About

My name is Pete Chatmon…but that’s pretty clear from the huge banner at the top of the site (minus the .com). What you may not know is that I’ve been making films since 1993, starting with a Super 8mm camera, graduating to 16/35mm, and now shooting on whatever I can get my hands on…or that producers/clients pay me to get all creative with.

A lot of folks are up in arms about “New Media”, whether they are excited about the possibilities, or scared of the new standard of engagement that communities expect to have with content providers. Despite all of the hoopla, what I know is that the fundamental principles of connection have not changed: we must engage and entertain audiences and consumers through honest storytelling.

I’ve written, produced and directed a variety of projects on every possible platform. After graduating New York University’s, Tisch School of the Arts with a thesis film, “3D” (starring Kerry Washington) that went to Sundance, I spent 7 years writing, raising money, directing, and ultimately securing distribution for my debut feature film “Premium”. I learned a lot along the way — not only that Zoe Saldana (“Avatar”, “Star Trek”) deserves all the mainstream success coming her way, and that Dorian Missick (NBC’s “The Cape”) is one of the best actors of his generation, but that talent has nothing to do with your ultimate success. I saw plenty of more talented classmates transition into other careers, as I remained steadfast in my commitment to becoming the filmmaker I imagined I could be back in ’93.

I’ve recently taken my skills as a grassroots marketer and applied it to the work I can do for anyone out there with a product, service, or brand that needs to maximize its message for increased revenue. Knowing that there are strategic steps that everyone can take toward their ultimate success, I am here to offer my formula to YOU. It’s not a secret recipe. It’s about commitment, learning from mistakes, and dedicating oneself to the mission at hand.
