Ava is an extremely talented filmmaker and great person. I remember when Facebook started adding the thread to emails and when I contacted Ava about something I was reminded that she had emailed me the night I won Tribeca All Access in 2008. We didn’t really know each other, but here she was with her eye on what’s happening out there for us filmmakers (a true marketer and publicist), taking the time to drop a “congrats”, and being genuinely happy for the fact that new stories are crossing the threshold. That same authenticity bleeds through into her films and I strongly suggest you go see MIDDLE OF NOWHERE asap. And WATCH the video above.
