I profiled Rachel Johnson in a previous post HERE and her film continues to rack up awards. The film will screen at The San Diego Black Film Festival (January 26 – January 29), The Pan African Film Festival (February 9 – 20), and The Hayti Heritage Film Festival (February 9 – 12)

About The Writer-Director
Rachel I. Johnson, born and raised in Brooklyn, New York is a graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. At NYU, she wrote and directed many short films, earned various scholarships and awards for her work, and further developed her craft of filmmaking. Johnson directed her thesis film “White Sugar in a Black Pot” with the assistance of the Warner Bros. Film Award and the George A. Heinemann Film Production Award. Her thesis film received a CINE Golden Eagle Award in 2011. Johnson is grateful for the exceptional love, support, and guidance she receives, and will continue to write and direct poignant films.
